The Simplex Aerospace Model 308 Fire Attack aerial firefighting system for the Bell 407.
The system consists of a belly mounted carbon fiberglass tank, which holds 927 liters (245 gallons) of water or 28 liters (7.5 gallons) of foam retardant. Other features of the tank include a hover refill pump with refill rate of 1,060 liters (280 gallons) per minute, corrosion resistant parts, cockpit controlled selectable drop patterns, and rapid installation/removal.
Simplex is the sole manufacturer of firefighting tank technology for the Bell 407.
